Jennifer Markham is originally from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She received her early training from Judi Drozd at Terpsichore Dance Center and from Madeline Cantarella Culpo and faculty at the Cantarella School of Dance/School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet.
Markham danced with the Albany Berkshire Ballet, touring throughout New England, NewYork, and Pennsylvania. Since moving to the Boston area in 1999, Jennifer has appeared in A Dancer’s Christmas with the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble and various performances with the Margot Parsons Dance Company. With Margot Parsons she was privileged to have new works created for her using both live and recorded music, in classical and contemporary forms.
Markham holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history with a minor in women’s studies from Emmanuel College and continues to work towards her Master of Science in arts administration from Boston University. She is a certifiedt eacher for the American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum from Primary through Level 3.
As part of the faculty of Boston Ballet School, Markham has taught in the Children’s, Classical Ballet, and Adult Programs. She has taught ballet for the Education and Community Initiatives department for Citydance and for Taking Healthy Steps. Markham is the children’s theater manager for the Boston Ballet and a children’s ballet mistress for The Nutcracker.
