Pixley Schiciano trained at Pittsburgh Ballet School, Walnut Hill School and North Carolina School of the Arts. She spent many years dancing in musical theatre in New York and in touring companies. One of her early New York experiences was performing under the direction of Agnes de Mille and Lee Theodore with the American Dance Machine. Later, she played the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at Radio City Music Hall, before touring Europe with a production of Gower Champion’s 42nd Sreet.
Schiciano has choreographed and directed two musicals for Wellesley Summer Theatre for Children and greatly enjoys being a Children’s Ballet Master for Boston Ballet’s The Nutcracker. She has enjoyed choreographing two fashion shows and directing a video for Brussels Sprouts Kids, a children’s clothing store. She has been a member of the Board at Walnut Hill School and helped bring arts programs to Tenacre Country Day School. Schiciano has been a teacher of classical ballet at Boston Ballet School and has taught the Musical Theatre classes in the Summer Dance Program. She currently lives in Wellesley and is married to Kenneth Schiciano. They have two children, Christina and Nick.
