Joined Boston Ballet in 2014
Kathryn McDonald started her ballet training at age seven with Kathy Chamberlain. After attending three summer courses at the School of American Ballet on full merit scholarship, she was invited to stay for the winter course on scholarship in the fall of 2009. At age 17, McDonald attended Boston Ballet's summer program on full scholarship.
While at the School of American Ballet, McDonald performed lecture-demonstrations on ballet including Balanchine's Allegro Brillante, The Nutcracker (Sugar Plum Fairy Variation), The Sleeping Beauty (Bluebird Variation), and Jerome Robbins' 2-and 3-Part Inventions. McDonald has also performed in the School of American Ballet's annual workshop, performing Christopher Wheeldon's Scenes de Ballets, George Balanchine's Bourrée Fantasque, Who Cares?, and Cortège Hongrois, and Peter Martins' Les Petits Riens.
