Joined Boston Ballet in 2013
Lauren Herfindahl studied at Boston Ballet School for seven years prior to joining Boston Ballet II in 2011. She was promoted to the corps de ballet in 2013. As a student she was the recipient of the Tatiana Gardner Scholarship and, in her final two years, was named the Mikko Nissinen Artistic Scholar.
Herfindahl trained at numerous summer programs on scholarship, including the School of American Ballet, Canada's National Ballet School, and Boston Ballet's Summer Dance Program. She also trained with the Chautauqua Dance Program and at Suzanne Farrell's Cedar Island Program. In June 2012, Herfindahl was awarded the silver medal at the Boston International Ballet Competition in the Junior Division. Also in 2012, Herfindahl was invited to the Professional Dance program at the Banff Centre for the Arts, where she appeared in the lead role in George Balanchine's Concerto Barocco. Herfindahl attended the 2015 Ballet Program at The School at Jacob's Pillow where she performed in Mathew Neenan's World Premiere.
Herfindahl's featured roles include Dew Drop in Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker; Tall Swans and Pas de Cinq in Mikko Nissinen's Swan Lake; a Demi Soloist in Balanchine's Theme and Variations and Diamonds; Viktor Plotnikov's Contour Equipoise; and Hans van Manen's Black Cake. Other repertoire includes roles in Balanchine's Episodes, Symphony in Three Movements, Symphony in C, Serenade, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Coppélia, Valse Fantasie, and the lead role in Raymonda Variations; Val Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias; Helen Pickett's Eventide; Lila York's Celts; José Martinez's Resonance; Peter Zuska's DMJ 1953-1977; John Cranko's Romeo and Juliet; Michel Fokine's La Sylphide; Harald Lander's Études; Florence Clerc's La Bayadère; Rudolf Nureyev's Don Quixote; and Marius Petipa's The Sleeping Beauty.
