        Description Boston Ballet School seeks experienced, energetic, and mature Residential Counselors to support our Summer Dance Programs in our Boston, MA and Newton, MA locations. Boston Ballet School’s Summer Dance Program is a 5-week residential, summer intensive training program in classical ballet with a comprehensive curriculum designed for the serious ballet student.  Residential Counselors oversee the residential students and are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe residential environment for adolescents and young adults during our intensive ballet programs. Our Newton program serves male and female students ages 10-14. Our Boston program is for male and female students ages 15-19.
        Responsibilities

        Duties include, but are not limited to:

        • accepting responsibility for assigned students
        • monitoring safety and well being of students
        • enforcing rules and regulations of Boston Ballet School and residence halls
        • planning activities for students
        • chaperoning students on activities and physician visits
        • assisting as needed in the administrative office at Boston Ballet School
        • being available for students and emergencies on a full time basis, including some overnight hours, while employed for the program
        • other operational duties as assigned by senior Residential Staff and Boston Ballet School administrative staff
        Qualifications
        • Experience as a dorm parent, teacher, camp counselor, or resident assistant
        • Experience working with or mentoring adolescents
        • Ability to be a leader as well as a team player
        • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to mediate as situations arise
        • Good judgment skills and the ability to respond well in disciplinary and emergency situations.
        • Foreign language skills a plus.  We welcome a significant number of international students; please indicate any foreign language experience (particularly Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, French, German, and Portuguese)
        • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age
