More than 180 people and 1,000 hours go into the staging of a Boston Ballet performance, including the exceptional artistic direction of Mikko Nissinen and the hard work of over 100 Company members and orchestra musicians, not to mention the efforts of all those behind the scenes. But Boston Ballet is much more than its stage presence: over 3,000 students attend one of its three ballet school studios and more than 7,000 are beneficiaries of its highly acclaimed community outreach programs. Boston Ballet is a major contributor to the culture and economics of the City of Boston.
For Boston Ballet, as for most non-profit organizations, ticket sales and tuition are not sufficient to fund its multi-faceted mission. Without your generous contributions, Boston Ballet could not deliver its world-class performances and educational programming to our community.
To enlist your support, we are pleased to announce a new philanthropic challenge. Our family has committed to matching new or lapsed Benefactor gifts ($2,000 or greater), or increased gifts from current Benefactors, up to a total of $1 million. We hope you will join us in celebrating Boston Ballet’s excellence and supporting its continuing impact on our city by allowing our challenge to double your generosity.
