        Share the Magic

        Loading...

In 1997, Boston Ballet launched Share the Magic as a way of helping to ensure that youngsters from throughout the city would be able to experience the wonder of The Nutcracker.

This holiday classic is often a young person’s first encounter with the performing arts, as well as a beloved tradition that every child deserves to enjoy. Share the Magic involves charitable and youth-serving organizations like The Big Sisters Association, Children’s Hospital, The Home for Little Wanderers, and the Make a Wish Foundation. Funds raised by the Ballet – contributed by individuals and businesses alike – subsidize performance tickets, which are then distributed to charities for use by their constituents.

Beginning in 2006, Share the Magic became a year-round program, inviting youngsters to attend performances of such classics as The Sleeping Beauty and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in addition to The Nutcracker. During the 2008-2009 season, over 2,000 children affiliated with 20 community-based non-profits were served through this initiative.

Corporate sponsorship of this program affords opportunities for helping to make the holidays brighter for youngsters in need. As you plan your holiday celebrations, please help us bring the joy of The Nutcracker to deserving girls and boys in the metropolitan area with a generous contribution to Share the Magic. With each gift of $100, you’ll enable two youngsters to experience the thrill of live performance and the warmth of a holiday tradition.
