Boston Ballet's London Tour July 2013
On October 12, 2012 Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announced that the company tour to London, England in July 1-7, 2013. Boston Ballet will debut at the London Coliseum for six performances. The tour marks the return of Boston Ballet to London for the first time in 30 years and commences a season long celebration of Boston Ballet's 50 years.
While in London Boston Ballet will present two programs highlighting the company's diverse repertiore and artistic versatility.
Programme 1
Boston Ballet performs four groundbreaking neo-classical and contemporary ballets that span a century of innovative choreography. Programme 1 presents Vaslav Nijinsky's Afternoon of a Faun, George Balanchine's Serenade and Symphony in Three Movements, and Boston Ballet resident choreographer Jorma Elo's Plan to B.
Programme 2
Boston Ballet highlights the Company's contemporary repertoire. Programme 2 presents William Forsythe's explosive The Second Detail, Christopher Wheeldon's boldly stylized Polyphonia and Jiří Kylián's emotional masterpiece Bella Figura.

Boston Ballet's 2012 Finland Tour
Boston Ballet made its debut in Helsinki, Finland, presenting sold out performances at the Finnish National Opera House on September 8 and 9, 2012. The tour marked an exciting homecoming for Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen, who was thrilled to bring the Company, with a dramatic, diverse program, to his native country. Boston Ballet Resident Choreographer Jorma Elo also joined the tour. Both natives of Finland, Nissinen and Elo are alumni of the Finnish National Ballet School where they first met and studied together.
The cutting edge program featured Jorma Elo’s Plan to B, Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia, William Forsythe’s The Second Detail, and Helen Pickett’s Tsukiyo. The three performances were met with overwhelming, unprecedented response from audiences and received rave reviews and critical acclaim from the public and the press. While in Helsinki the Company enjoyed a traditional Finnish feast at the family home of Jorma Elo, and explored the sights of the city in spare moments.

Boston Ballet on Tour
Boston Ballet is committed to sharing its critically acclaimed repertoire and roster of talented artists with local, regional, and international audiences. In 2007, the Company revived its touring foray after 16 years with a triumphant six week tour to seven cities in Spain. Building on the success of the 2007 Spainish tour, the company appeared at major U.S. dance festivals including the Fall for Dance Festivals at New York City Center and Orange County Performing Arts Center, the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC, and the Ballet Across America Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. In 2008, Boston Ballet returned to the international stage with inaugural performances in Seoul, South Korea and delighted audiences with a broad range of contemporary and neo-classical repertoire never before presented in Korea. In 2010, Boston Ballet traveled to Ottawa , Canada to make the Company's premiere performances at the National Arts Centre and returned to Spain at the end of 2009-2010 season. Boston Ballet kicked off the 2012-2013 season with a partial company tour to Helsinki, Finland.
