        Marblehead

        The newest of the four Boston Ballet School location opened its doors in February 2009. The studio is located in the beautiful new Lynch/van Otterloo North Shore YMCA in Marblehead.

        Boys Class: Ages 3-7 and Ages 5-7

        The Boys Class is a program for male students ages 3-5 and 5-7 that offers the opportunity to explore dance and creative movement, while developing musical awareness in a comfortable, all-boys setting.

        Hand n Hand Thumbnail
        Hand 'n Hand: Age 2

        Hand 'n Hand program, for children age 2, serves as an introduction to the beautiful art of dance.  Development is guided through the in class presence of one parent or caregiver.
        Rhythm and Movement Thumbnail
        Rhythm and Movement: Age 3

        Rhythm & Movement, for children age 3, is designed to develop large and fine motor skills, coordination, and musical awareness while promoting creativity and imagination

        Creative Dance: Age 4

        Creative Dance focuses on coordination, motor skill development, listening skills, and the development of a child's natural creativity.  Musical awareness and improvisation is enhanced with a professional pianist

        Pre-Ballet 1: Age 5

        Pre-Ballet 1, for children age 5, serves as an introduction to the more formal study of classical ballet.
        Pre-Ballet 2
        Pre-Ballet 2: Age 6

        Pre-Ballet 2, for children age 6, offers an expanded introduction to the study of classical ballet.

        Primary: Age 7

        Primary, for children age 7, is the highest level of the Children's Program.  Primary is developed to prepare students for entering the Classical Ballet Program the following year.
        Homeschool Program

        Boston Ballet School’s new program exclusively for home schooled students - will be starting this fall in our Marblehead location. We are pleased to offer the following classes, starting in September 2009: Creative Dance (ages 3-4) and Pre-Ballet (ages 5-7).

        Youth Modern

        Youth Modern, for children ages 5-7, introduces students to a different form of dance and is a wonderful compliment to their ballet training
        Kinder Keyboard thumbnail
        Kinder Keyboard

        Kinder Keyboard, for children ages 4-6, teaches students notes and keys, positions of the hands, use of fingers and how to play simple songs in preparation for a presentation at the end of the year
        Intro class
        Introductory Program

        The Introductory Ballet Program is deisgned for young teens who have not had formal ballet training and are interest in learning the ballet technique.  The class meets twice a week for an hour each time.

        Elementary Program

        Students enrolled in the Elementary levels are required to attend classes 2-3 times a week with an increase in time commitment.  Students begin to be offered elective classes to explore diverse dance styles.

        Intermediate Program

        Students enrolled in the Intermediate levels are required to attend classes 3-4 times a week with an increase in time commitment.  Students develop a stronger understanding of the body's movement and gain an awareness of the commitment needed to further their dance training.
