Newton - Classical Ballet Program
Growing up in Chicago, Ms. Kreyer began her studies with Eva Lorriane, and continued at the Academy of Movement and Music. She performed featured ballet roles and appeared in many historical Humphrey, St. Denis, and Graham works with the company Momenta.
She continued her schooling at The Ruth Page Foundation with Larry Long where she became a member of The Civic Ballet of Chicago and performed in many of Page‘s works including her famous production of The Nutcracker at the Arie Crown Theatre. In 1999 Ms. Kreyer won the prestigious Carey Rose Winiski Scholarship competition and in 2001 was invited to perform in Dance for Life with members of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. She was also invited to perform at the 2000 Republican National Convention, as well as film a documentary for PBS with Edward Villella. Ms. Kreyer studied on scholarship at summer programs with Houston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Pennsylvania Ballet, Ballet Austin, and Milwaukee Ballet.
In 2001 she joined the Milwaukee Ballet Company under the direction of Simon Dow where she danced in Swan Lake, Cinderella, Carmen, Anna Karenina, and works by Balanchine, Jean-Paul Commelin, Jimmy Gammonet, Mark Godden, and others. In 2003 Ms. Kreyer joined the Columbia City Ballet where she was featured in soloist roles in Dracula, Romeo & Juliet, and The Sleeping Beauty. She then went on to dance with Ballet Memphis and is currently a member of Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre in Cambridge. She has been a featured guest artist with Ballet Entre Nous, Lakes Area Ballet, and the Foothills Conservatory. While dancing she has been on the faculty of the Boston Ballet School, The Foothills Conservatory, Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre, The Milwaukee Ballet School, and others. She also works with and has modeled for custom dancewear company LOLAstretch, and is married to Boston Ballet Principal Dancer Pavel Gurevich.
