Sarah Wroth's enjoyment of the art of ballet began fifteen years ago at a small school in Frederick Maryland known as Frederick School of Classical Ballet. There she performed such roles as the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty and the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella.
After graduating high school she was accepted at Indiana University School of Music. While in school she performed roles such as The Snow Queen in the Nutcracker and the principal girl in Violette Verdy's original work Hommage to Hommel.
At Indiana University Sarah had a life altering opportunity to be taught by an amazing array of ballet instructors. Violette Verdy, Julie Kent, Susie Pilar, and Susan Jaffe were only a few of the ballet minds that touched Sarah's heart. After three years of rigorous study and countless lessons learned, Sarah graduated in May of 2003 with a Bachelor's of Science with a concentration in Education.
Her dreams became reality when she was given a contract for the Boston Ballet Company Corps de Ballet by Mikko Nissisen.
Since joining Boston Ballet, Sarah has performed in renowned ballets such as Don Quiote, Mozartiana, Stars and Stripes, and, of course, The Nutcracker.
Each day is a new opportunity for improvement and expanded joy in the art of ballet and Sarah looks forward to all of the teaching and learning she will be doing this summer at Summer Dance Program - Newton.
