        Boston Ballet School Curriculum

        Here is a simple guide to the progression of training for students at Boston Ballet School.  For all levels, the total hours represent core curriculum classes.

        Elementary
        At the Elementary levels, modern and character may be added as electives.

        Elementary 1: Two days per week - 2 hours total
        Elementary 2: Two days per week - 3 hours total
        Elementary 3: Three days per week - 4.5 hours total

        Intermediate
        At the Intermediate levels, modern and Pilates may be added as electives.
         
        Intermediate 1: Four days per week - 7 hours total
        *Character becomes part of the core curriculum and pointe is introduced.
        Intermediate 2: Five days per week - 8.5 hours total
        Intermediate 3: Five days per week - 10.5 hours total
        *Modern becomes part of the core curriculum.

        Flex
        Flex students may add additional technique, pointe, character, modern and Pilates as electives.

        Two days per week minimum - 3 hours total

        Advanced
        Modern, character, pointe and variations/repertoire become part of the core curriculum.  Pilates may be added as an elective.

        Advanced 1: Six days per week - 13 hours total
        Advanced 2: Six days per week - 13 hours total

        Pre-Professional
        Pointe, men's work, character, modern and Pilates become part of the core curriculum.

        Pre-Pro 1: Six days per week - 14 hours total
        Pre-Pro 2: Six days per week - 16 hours total
        Pre-Pro 3: Six days per week - 18.5 hours total
        Pre-Pro 4: Six days per week - 18.5 hours total
