School Year Program
Students enrolling in Boston Ballet School’s School Year Program attend classes, September through June. Curriculum includes technique, pointe, variations and separate men’s classes, as well as modern, character and pilates. Through career preparation and professional development seminars, students are mentored in their next steps in a dance career or higher education.
Upper-level students may have opportunities to perform with Boston Ballet’s Company, and all students perform at the Year End Showcase in May. Customized academic and residential options are available through Boston-area academic schools and residencies.
Summer
Boston Ballet School offers a summer intensive training program in classical ballet with a comprehensive curriculum designed for the serious ballet student. Curriculum is based on age and level of development. Summer Dance Program - Boston (ages 15-19) offers aspiring pre-professional students five to six hours of dance classes per day taught by our international faculty, with a focus on the development of classical ballet technique.
Summer Dance Program - Newton (ages 10-14) provides our younger female and male students with an exciting introduction to the process of professional ballet study at our Metrowest Studio in Newtonville.
A residential program is available at both sites, and all students are welcome to register as residential students. Summer Dance Program students are selected by audition only.
Our 46-city international audition tour takes place for five weeks each winter. Visit www.bostonballet.org/sdp for more information.
