International Students

As one of the premier dance academies in the United States, Boston Ballet School offers an outstanding combination of internationally renowned faculty members, rigorous curriculum and performing experience.  Located in the vibrant South End of the city, our Boston location provides an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to experience the charm of Boston while also receiving exceptional training in the same studios that are home to the Boston Ballet company.

Our international students have hailed from countries all around the world including Canada, Italy, Columbia, South Korea, France and Japan.  Many attend our summer intensive programs including Summer Dance Program Boston and Newton, while others choose to stay and attend our school year programs from September to June. Some of our foreign graduates gone on to join BBII, Boston Ballet and other prestigious companies.

Below are our recommended guidelines and procedures for enrolling as a foreign student at Boston Ballet:

STEP 1:  Audition
The school year program requires all new students age 9 and older to attend a placement class to determine the level of study best suited to their abilities within our system. Enrollment in one of our summer intensive programs is by audition only, with our national audition tour offered every January and February in over 26 U.S. cities.

If you are in Boston and wish to attend one of our summer placement classes for the 2008-2009 school year, please click here for a complete list of audition dates and to download a pre-registration form.

If you are in Boston but cannot attend one of the placement classes, please call 617.456.6264 to speak with the Boston Administrative Assistant, Marissa Krolewski, to schedule an individual evaluation.

If you are not in Boston, please review the following required materials in order to be evaluated via videotape or DVD:
