Boston Ballet School is delighted to announce an exciting new opportunity available to all Classical Ballet and Pre-Professional Program students. BBS Consulting Physical Therapist, Susan Kinney, will lead a Physical Therapy Clinic offered at Boston Ballet School. A doctor from the Sports and Dance Medicine Department of Children’s Hospital, Boston will also be available for additional help and advice.
The half-hour appointments will offer a general physical screening, help students evaluate a specific injury and provide information about injury prevention. Individualized recommendations will be provided to help improve and sustain each student’s overall physical health.
One clinic will be held each month, rotating between all three studio locations - Boston, Newton, and Marblehead. Students may attend at any location, regardless of their home studio.
The next clinic will be held in Marblehead on Friday, May 4 beginning at 4:00pm.
Physical Therapy screenings are by appointment only and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents are encouraged to attend. To make an appointment email bbspt@bostonballet.org and include the following information:
- Student Name, DOB, Phone Number
- Student class level
- Parent Name, Phone Number and Home Address
- Desired appointment time
- Health insurance information
A competitive fee of $70 per appointment should be paid to the Studio Administrator on checking-in, in the form of cash or check made payable to ARTS. Credit cards will not be accepted. Invoices will be provided for insurance claims. (There will be a cancellation fee of $35 charged for no-shows or cancellations made within 48 hours of appointments).
BBS is very fortunate to be able to offer the expertise of some of the top dance medicine experts in New England. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to support your child and their development as they progress through Boston Ballet School.
Please note that a minimum of five students are needed to hold the Physical Therapy clinic. If less than five students sign-up, the clinic will be cancelled and families will be notified in advance.
