Customized Trainings

As a leader in the field of adaptive dance, Boston Ballet School expert faculty will work to develop or grow your adaptive programming. This is an opportunity for us to tailor our training to your needs. We have partnered with ballet companies and art institutions around the country to advance the field of adaptive dance.
Areas of focus may include:

Adaptive Dance Teacher Training (18+)

Adaptive Dance teacher training covers techniques for teaching dance and movement to individuals with disabilities (emphasis on Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders), strategies for modifying dance instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, and hands-on practice and experience in the studio. | Learn More


Our workshops offer exciting opportunities to learn and train with Boston Ballet School. Participants can explore the many facets of ballet from music to marketing at our various locations. Workshops are designed for school groups, youth organizations, corporations, teachers, service providers, and more.

Tour/Talk/Move (Ages 8+)

Tour Boston Ballet's19 Clarendon Street facilities to learn the inner workings of a leading arts organization, then participate in a beginner ballet, modern, or creative movement class taught by Boston Ballet faculty. Suitable for beginners, ages 8 and up. Participants are able to tailor a workshop to their needs.

Ballet Storytime (Ages 2+)

In this interactive workshop, children and families will hear a story about ballet then have the opportunity to participate in a movement experience that highlights the major themes of the story. Appropriate for children ages 2 and up (when accompanied by an adult).

Master Classes (Ages 10-18)

Participate in an hour and a half classical ballet class, featuring live piano accompaniment, taught by Boston Ballet School’s expert faculty. The Master Class requires a minimum of 15 students and a maximum of 30 students. Participants must be between ages 10-18 and have prior ballet experience.

Cost  & Availability

Workshop costs vary and can be combined with a Group Sale to a performance at the Boston Opera House.  Select workshops may be offered at your site for an additional fee.

Workshops are available from 10 am–6 pm Sun–Fri. All workshops are subject to availability of staff and studio/meeting space. Workshops must be booked at least 30 days in advance.
