ECI on Location

ECI on Location offers fun and engaging dance programming for students age 8 and up at local schools and community sites.

ECI on Location Overview

ECI on Location brings movement instruction to local schools and community sites. Schools and organizations can choose specific areas of focus based on the unique needs of the population they serve. If you are a school site, instruction can integrate arts and academic learning standards and core curriculum.

Taking Steps: programming for girls in grades 3–8
Boys in Motion:  programming for boys in grades 3–8
Mix’d Rep:  mixed gender programming for individuals grades 3 and up, including adults

Areas of Focus

Sites can choose specific areas of focus based on the needs and interests of the populations they serve.

  • Elements of movement
  • Dance Technique
  • Storytelling and self-expression
  • Individuality and artistry
  • Personal, Social and Physical Development
Additional experiences

In addition to an incredible movement experience of their choosing, all ECI on Location students will have 6 opportunities during the year to attend Boston Ballet performances at The Boston Opera House. Each performance will also offer a chance for students to meet other ECI on Location students from across the city and participate in special pre-show events such as back stage tours, dancer meet-and-greets, and more.

Boston Ballet believes everyone should have the opportunity to dance and is committed to working with all of our schools and sites to ensure that programming is affordable and accessible.
Cost will be calculated according to size of organization, type of organization, population served, and need of individuals or community served and is determined on a case by case basis.

Programming is offered in sessions during the school year (12-weeks in the fall: Sep–Dec and 18 weeks in the spring: Jan–Apr*). A 6-week session is offered in the summer (Jul–Aug).
*An additional 6 weeks can be added to the spring session to correspond with the school year calendar.
