Summer Dance Program Newton Studio Direct Apply Opportunity

In addition to our national Audition Tour, acceptance to Boston Ballet School's SDP-Newton will also be considered through the completion of the Direct Apply Application, submission of four required photographs, and a current teacher recommendation. The required photographs and recommendation letter must include a head shot, croisé fourth in relevé, attitude derrière efface, and first arabesque on relevé. An application fee of $50 must be submitted via credit card at the time of submission.

Application opportunities for our SDP-Newton program will be accepted through April 30, 2018.

Dress Code for photographs
  • Women: black leotard, pink tights, and pointe shoes if appropriate.
  • Men: black tights and white t-shirt 
Important Information 
  • Applications are accepted February 15-April 30, 2018.
  • Application fee of $50 must be submitted via credit card at time of submission.
  • All application fees are non-refundable regardless of circumstance.
  • Photographs and teacher recommendation must be emailed to with the student name in the subject line.  Applications are not considered complete until the completed application, photographs and teacher recommendation letter are received. Teacher recommendation letters must come directly from the teacher.
  • Results will be sent to parents’ email within 10 business days of application submission.

Am I eligible for the SDP-Boston Studio program if I apply by Direct Apply?
No. Only students that participate in our audition tour or video audition will be considered for placement in our SDP-Boston Studio program.
What is the difference between SDP-Newton and SDP-Boston?

How should I submit my photographs?
All four photographs must be submitted in JPEG format to immediately after submitting your application.
How should I submit my current teacher recommendation letter?
Recommendation letters should be emailed to by your teacher. This letter should reflect your ability to participate in our 5-week summer intensive and note your past training and experience.
