Joined Boston Ballet in 2014
Addie Tapp began dancing at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts in Colorado, and continued training at the Glenwood Dance Academy. When she was 14, Tapp attended the School of American Ballet's Summer Course and was accepted into its year-round program. Tapp trained at the School of American Ballet from 2010–2014 where she also performed with the New York Choreographic Institute and two SAB Student Choreography workshops. In the School of American Ballet's annual workshop performances, Tapp danced in George Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15, Wapurgisnacht Ballet, and a lead role in Serenade. Her Boston Ballet repertoire includes Karole Armitage’s Bitches Brew, George Balanchine's Stravinsky Violin Concerto, Episodes, Theme and Variations, and Kammermusik No. 2, Val Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias, John Cranko’s Onegin, Jorma Elo’s Creatures of Egmont, Ivan Liška’s Le Corsaire (Odalisque), José Martinez’s Resonance, Léonide Massine’s Gaîté Parisienne, John Neumeier’s Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler, Mikko Nissinen's Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty (Lilac Fairy, Crystal Fountain Fairy, Pas de Trois), and Helen Pickett's Eventide. Tapp was a 2015 Princess Grace Award nominee and was featured in Pointe Magazine’s “2016 Stars of the Corps” during her second season with Boston Ballet. During her time at SAB, Tapp was awarded the Mae L. Wien Award for outstanding promise. Tapp joined Boston Ballet’s corps de ballet in 2014, was promoted to second soloist in 2016, and to soloist in 2019.
