Erin McNulty

Biography

Erin McNulty is a Boston-based dance artist and educator. McNulty holds a B.S. from Boston University (Magna Cum Laude) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance in London (Distinction) where she was the recipient of the Audrey Wethered Award. Other notable training and study includes the Gaga Summer Intensive at Mark Morris Dance Center; and National Dance Education Organization’s course in the Professional Teaching Standards for Dance Arts (Distinction).

McNulty is passionate about thoughtful arts access and inclusive, rigorous dance education. She currently serves as Instructional Coach and Teaching Artist for Boston Ballet’s Education & Community Initiatives; and is on dance faculty at Boston University (Modern/Contemporary) and Wilmington Dance Academy (Contemporary, Improvisation & Composition). She is also a guest teacher with ArtisTree Community Arts Center in Vermont.

As a professional contemporary dancer, McNulty currently dances with Natalie Johnson Dance and is a former principal dancer for Kairos Dance Theater. She has performed in additional projects with Eliza Malecki Dance, Rachel Linsky, Zoe Dance Company, Kelley Donovan & Dancers, Bethan Peters, and Paula Josa-Jones/Performance Works. McNulty has choreographed and directed her own research-driven work for stage and film, including a 2018 dance film collaboration supported by NEFA’s New England Dance Fund; a music video for rock band Howl!; and a 2020 short film commission for the international fringe Shawna Shea Film Festival with additional support from the Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture/City of Boston. Her choreography has been presented live by Providence Dance Festival, Trinity Laban, Artbeat, Salem Arts Festival, NACHMO, Providence College, and Dance for World Community among others.
