Nicole Nelson

Biography

Nicole Nelson is a Boston-based Physical Therapist and dance instructor. Nelson holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She then completed her graduate studies at Simmons University, receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her studies in kinesiology and rehabilitation practices have supplemented her dance training by informing movement performance with structural and physiological reasoning.

Nelson is passionate about providing students with an evidence-based education to ensure a safe, challenging, and technical dance experience. Through her studies and dance training, Nelson hopes to deliver an informative and fun dance education. She enjoys teaching creative movement and beginner ballet, tap, and jazz classes. Her recent performance experience includes Tony William’s Urban Nutcracker and performance projects with The END Ensemble and David Sun of SunDanceX.

Additionally, Nelson has served as a physical therapist at Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she treated a variety of performing artists including musicians, dancers, and musical theater students. She was happy to also join the Boston Ballet School Summer Dance Program as an on-site therapist. Lastly, she is an active Physical Therapist at Spaulding Outpatient Rehabilitation in Brighton, MA working with a wide variety of patients and continuing her studies in dance medicine.
