Boston Ballet School is excited to announce that the Newton Studio has relocated to a new, expanded, custom-built facility at 153 Needham Street in Newton.
The new Newton Studio deeply reflects the needs of our community. Over the past year, we have heard from more than 400 adult and teenage students, parents, faculty, leaders, and supporters to tell us what would be most important to them in a new Boston Ballet School facility. We are delighted to deliver on these five key priorities:

  • More parking & accessibility: triple the amount of parking at a more centralized studio location in the Western suburbs

  • More amenities: situated within Newton Nexus, a new development complex being transformed into a vibrant destination retail area for groceries, refreshments, restaurants, apparel, and sporting goods

  • More space & classes: additional 10,000 square feet, which is a significant increase in space for dancing, changing, stretching, storing belongings, and waiting for loved ones taking class

  • Better infrastructure: new, custom-designed air, sound, lighting, plumbing, and network systems, creating  more comfortable and operationally sustainable environment

  • Forward-thinking: modern, timeless design by world-class architecture firm Gensler promoting the Ballet’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility

If you have questions or comments please send a note to We look forward to hearing your thoughts, and celebrating a new and exciting chapter for Boston Ballet School.

Buildout of the new Newton Studio is being made possible through a $3 million capital fundraising campaign, stewarded by Campaign Chair and lead donors Pixley and Kenneth Schiciano.
You can make your mark on Boston Ballet School’s new Newton Studio by buying a brick. Your donation will support the school and advance our mission of providing excellent dance education to all who seek it. Your brick will be prominently displayed at the entrance to the Newton Studio; please note that brick purchases after June 30, 2017 may not be delivered in time for the grand opening in September.
