Fall madly in love

Hailed as the greatest romantic ballet of all time, Giselle illustrates the strength of love, the devastation of betrayal, and the power of forgiveness. This gripping tale of a peasant girl who goes mad and dies of heartbreak after being deceived by her lover is both emotional and haunting.

New and returning fans of ballet will delight in the thrilling drama and exquisite choreography, which showcases both the principal roles and the iconic female corps de ballet. The title role in particular has been a touchstone in the legacy of great ballerinas, who have had to not only master the technical demands, but also exceed the high standards of emotional commitment. A former favorite in the role, Ballet Master Larissa Ponomarenko puts her personal touch on the staging and passes the torch to the next generation of dancers.

Set to Adolphe Adam’s soaring score, this is a production “that stays with you long after you leave the theater” (The Boston Globe). Technically breathtaking and profoundly moving, Giselle remains one of the most beloved and enduring cornerstones of classical ballet.
