Star-crossed love

Love brings beauty and sorrow in Shakespeare’s tale of youthful passion and family rivalry. Choreographed by John Cranko to Sergei Prokofiev’s dramatic score, the ballet fully captures the romance and tragedy of two young lovers caught between their bitterly opposed families. The story’s clarity, the fusion of compelling acting and masterful dance, and the piercing representation of life itself—all make this a perfect ballet for both new and experienced audiences.

With Sincere Appreciation
The 2017-2018 performances of Romeo & Juliet have been made possible by a generous gift from Eleanor and Frank Pao.
