Biography

Joseph Boswell began ballet training at the age of 7 with Kristen Potts. He continued his training at the Houston Ballet Academy with Claudio Munoz and Andrew Murphy. He received a full scholarship to Boston Ballet School’s Summer Dance Program in 2018 and was accepted into Boston Ballet School’s Pre-Professional Program. Boswell was a member of the inaugural BBS Post Graduate program, working with Kathleen Mitchell and Peter Stark.

His repertoire includes Jorma Elo’s Slice to Sharp, Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, Marius Petipa’s Harlequinade, and Stanton Welch’s Studies and The Gentlemen.

Boswell was awarded the Mikko Nissinen Scholarship for the 2019–2020 season as a Boston Ballet School Trainee. In the summer of 2019, Boswell participated in Boston Ballet School’s exchange program with Canada’s National Ballet School.

He joined Boston Ballet II in 2021.
