Lauren Difede was born on St. Croix of the U.S. Virgin Islands, but started her dance training after moving to Houston, TX. In Houston, Difede attended and graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and received training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, and some Hip Hop at North Harris Performing Arts.
Difede holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a Major in Psychology and Minor in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas, in Houston, TX.
Difede has danced with Dominic Walsh Dance Theater and Revolve Dance Company in Houston, TX, as well as Untitled Collective in New York City, NY and Infinite Movement Ever Evolving in Miami, FL. She has also had the privilege to work and train with notable choreographers from all over the world including Paul Lightfoot, Sol Leon, Marco Goecke, Natalia Horecna, Maurice Causey, Priscilla Nathan Murphy, and Fred Strobel. Difede began dancing with Island Moving Company in the fall of 2013.
