Merritt Moore

Biography

Merritt Moore’s ballet training started in Los Angeles at age 12. She attended summer programs at American Ballet Theater School, San Francisco Ballet School, Royal Ballet School, Rosella Hightower, and more. Moore has danced professionally with Zurich Ballet, English National Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, and Boston Ballet. 

Moore’s repertoire includes Alvin Ailey’s Stream, George Balanchine’s Apollo and Symphony in C, August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, William Forsythe’s Artifact, Trey McIntyre’s Blue Until June, Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, Marius Petipa’s La Bayadère, Heinz Spoerli’s Peer Gynt, and Twyla Tharp’s Sinatra Suite.  

She choreographs with robots and has performed with them at Boston Ballet, Forbes Women’s Summit, Switzerland, Germany, Los Angeles, Bucharest, and for Harvard’s AI Opening with special guests Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan. She has collaborated with Louis Vuitton and her robot performances have been featured in TIME, Financial Times (FT), Vogue, BBC and more.  

Merritt Moore has a B.A. in physics from Harvard, Ph.D. in Quantum Optics from Oxford, is adjunct professor at NYU Abu Dhabi teaching “Creative Robotics” and was awarded Forbes 30 under 30.  

Moore performs with Boston Ballet as an artist of the Company in 2024.
