Residential and Non-Residential Options
Junior Summer Intensive immerses students in the world of ballet through daily technique classes, as well as engaging enrichments including Modern, Jazz, Ballet Mime, and Progressing Ballet Technique. In a supportive and welcoming environment students will also have fun learning about Boston Ballet repertoire and dance history. In addition to the rigorous dance schedule, Junior Summer Intensive offers guest faculty lectures and workshops along with other peer relationship-building activities.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a residential component of the program. Residential students will live in community at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, home of Boston Ballet School’s Professional Division, and are supervised by adult Residential Counselors. Residential Counselors will act as a support for students throughout the program and are on-call 24 hours a day. They will also organize group activities at the dorm such as movie and game nights and a weekend activity.
Space is limited and spots are allocated on a first come first serve basis. Students are required to submit a letter of reference from their current ballet school director or owner describing their current skill level in order to sign up for the program. Additionally, please provide a photo in first arabesque.
