Biography
Alaina brings a deep love of ballet and a strong commitment to each young artist, helping them embrace the technical and mental foundation to pursue their paths.
Alaina began her training in Oregon with Marjorie Soriano and Jacqueline Schumacher. She continued her training at Pacific Northwest Ballet School, where she was one of the first students promoted to principal dancer with the Company under the direction of Kent Stowell and Francia Russell.
She continued her career in San Francisco after an invitation from Helgi Tomasson to join San Francisco Ballet. Throughout her career, she performed a wide range of principal and soloist roles, with a repertoire spanning both classical and contemporary works by leading choreographers including George Balanchine, David Bintley, Lew Christensen, William Forsythe, James Kudelka, Jerome Robbins, Michael Smuin, Kent Stowell, Glen Tetley, Helgi Tomasson, and Rudy Van Danzig.
Following her performing career, Alaina remained actively engaged in the dance community as a guest artist and instructor throughout the Bay Area. She later relocated to Vermont, where she raised her family while continuing to mentor and train young dancers.
After relocating to the Boston area in 2023, she joined Boston Ballet as Assistant to the Children’s Rehearsal Director and was appointed to the faculties of Boston Ballet School and Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where she remains committed to the development and support of the next generation of dancers.
