Boston Ballet is a professional classical ballet company presenting a diverse range of classical, neoclassical and contemporary repertoire. We explore what it means to be the ballet company of the future. We are an AGMA company with a guaranteed 40 week-per-year minimum contract.

Auditions are by invitation only.
You may submit your audition material based on the group below that best represents your level of experience. Please submit your audition material to only ONE level. All applications must include the required materials listed below.
- Professional dancers, either currently employed or previously employed:
Please select Company Auditions on the application to be considered for a position with Boston Ballet.
- Students/pre-professional dancers:
Please select BBII Auditions on the application to be considered for a position with Boston Ballet II.
NOTE: You may still be considered for Boston Ballet if appropriate.
- Dancers wishing to apply directly to the Graduate Program:

AUDITION MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Boston Ballet supports the International Audition Pre-Selection Guidelines.
- A video with no introduction or fancy editing, consisting of the following performed in professional, form-fitting attire that allows for proper assessment of placement and technical proficiency.NOTE: All required videos should be danced on pointe if you are trained in pointe work and wish to be considered for repertoire performed on pointe.

- A short classical variation drawn from the standard repertoire
- A short contemporary variation (for example – something drawn from repertoire, phrases from classwork or a self-created work) that demonstrates movement qualities that are different from the classical variation. Contemporary variation may be in any footwear you choose.
- 3-5 minutes of barre work, incorporating exercises to both the right and left sides
- 3-5 minutes of center work that includes adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro
- Please submit videos via a NON-password protected YouTube or Vimeo link.

- 2-3 dance photos showcasing line and proportions

Boston Ballet Orchestra
There are no auditions available at this time.
Musicians of the Boston Ballet Orchestra are members of the Boston Musicians’ Association, Local 9-535 of the American Federation of Musicians, and governed by a collective bargaining agreement. The per service rate for the 2024-25 season is $335 plus contributions to the AFM Pension Fund and Boston Ballet benefits plans (health insurance plan provided through Blue Cross Blue Shield or 403(b) retirement plan).
