Housing

Residential students at Summer Dance Program are housed at Boston University – in Boston’s Kenmore and Fenway neighborhoods. Here, we are thrilled to offer a true “Boston” experience. With the Charles River and Fenway Park just steps away, and with easy access to sites like Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Boston Common, this unique, urban environment provides the perfect backdrop for social enrichment, and we are sure that students will form meaningful friendships with the hundreds of likeminded peers living in community with them. To accommodate all students, we will be using multiple dorm buildings across two separate campuses at Boston University.

Residential Staff

Boston Ballet School employs and trains a large team of Residential Counselors (RCs). RCs are most often college-aged individuals, with backgrounds in dance and/or residential life. RCs become invaluable resources for students during their time at SDP. In addition to Residential Counselors, there is a team of Registered Nurses hired by Boston Ballet School at Boston University over the course of the program. In addition to distributing student medications each day, these individuals will be available to consult on other health-related matters.

Programming and Activities

Throughout the week, Residential Counselors host a variety of programs in and around the dorms. Some of the favorite programs of years past include arts-and-crafts nights, lip sync competitions, trips to local museums, group games, and more! These programs provide many fun ways for students to form lasting bonds with new friends!

In addition to the programs hosted by Residential Staff, students will have the option to participate in off-campus Weekend Activities organized by Boston Ballet School. Past activities have included Red Sox games at Fenway Park, performances by New York City Ballet at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, amusement park trips, dinner cruises on Boston Harbor, and more.
