During his tenure, Mikko Nissinen has re-created productions of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Raymonda, with renowned designer Robert Perdziola. In these new productions, the Company honors the rich tradition of classical ballet and brilliant craftsmanship with many of the sets and costumes built and painted right here in New England. Boston Ballet also strives to preserve the beauty and rigor of the classical canon while reimagining outdated narratives and cultural depictions, ensuring these timeless ballets remain relevant, welcoming, and inspiring for future generations.

Under Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen’s leadership, Boston Ballet has strengthened its reputation as a cultural ambassador through national and international touring.
