Five Etudes, Premiere

In a first-time residency partnership, JORMA ELO worked extensively with Boston Ballet School’s Professional Division at Walnut Hill School for the Arts to create a premiere piece for Next Generation. Set to the music of Frédéric Chopin, Five Etudes is inspired by contemporary and classical realms and showcases the versatility of the talented Professional Division students. The featured solo musician will be a pianist from the Walnut Hill Music department.

Adrienne Canterna

Hold Me Tight, Premiere

Adrienne Canterna’s work has graced every corner of the dance world. From the commercial industry on television programs such as So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Got Talent, to her work with ballet institutions such as Washington Ballet, the Kirov Academy, and Joffery Ballet School. Canterna has worked directly with BBII artists and Boston Ballet Graduate students to create an exhilarating and dynamic premiere for Next Generation.

Die Welt culture critic in Germany wrote about her work, Rock the Ballet X, “Adrienne Canterna’s spectacular and ingenious choreography rendered the audience breathless.”
