Leningrad, Russia | Joined Boston Ballet School in 1991
Maya Isyanova received a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Leningrad Conservatory. She was also a full scholarship recipient at Boston University’s Doctor of Musical Arts program.
Isyanova played numerous recitals including appearances in Jordan Hall, Wang Center, and Tsai Performance Center, and also served as a Music Director of “Operafest” Company of New Hampshire. As a pianist for Choral and Vocal departments of New England Conservatory, she participated in many world premieres and worked with celebrated composers Toru Takemitsu and Osvaldo Golijov.
At Boston Ballet School, Isyanova oversees hiring, training, and managing pianists, as well as monitoring and scheduling pianists for Company Classes. She plays for classes and rehearsals in Boston and Newton and arranges piano scores for ballet classes and performances. She is in charge of selecting class progression music for Spring Showcases across all studio locations and preparation of the piano scores for annual Next Generation performance rehearsals.
YOKO IGARASHI, MUSICIAN

Yoko Igarashi completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University (BU) in Collaborative Piano with a full scholarship. Prior to her study at BU, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Piano Performance at The Frederic Chopin Academy in Warsaw, Poland, Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying at San Francisco Conservatory, and Graduate Diploma degree in Collaborative Piano at New England Conservatory (NEC).
During her studies at BU and NEC, Igarashi began working as a ballet pianist at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA. Igarashi is also a staff pianist at New England Conservatory of Music and maintains a private piano studio in Boston.
