Biography

Avery Stafford began her early training at Hathaway Academy of Ballet and Ballet Academy of Texas before continuing her studies at American Classical Ballet under the direction of George Birkadze and Ashley Ellis in 2022. In 2025, she joined Houston Ballet Academy on full scholarship to complete her pre-professional training.

Stafford has attended several summer programs, including Houston Ballet Academy and San Francisco Ballet School on full scholarship.

Stafford was named a National Young Arts Winner in 2024. She received scholarships from the Dance Council of North Texas in 2022, 2023, and 2025, earned multiple top awards at regional Youth America Grand Prix and ADC|IBC competitions, placed in the Top 10 Senior Division at ADC|IBC Finals in 2025, and was a Youth America Grand Prix Junior finalist in 2023.

Her repertoire includes August Bournonville’s La Sylphide and Napoli, Victor Gsovsky’s Grand Pas Classique, Yuri Grigorovich’s Spartacus, Joseph Mazilier’s Paquita, Claudio Muñoz’s Raymonda, Marius Petipa’s Coppélia, Giselle, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake, Ben Stevenson’s Don Quixote, Vasily Vainonen’s Flames of Paris, and Stanton Welch’s Brigade, Garden of Mirth, La Bayadère, and The Nutcracker.

Stafford joined Boston Ballet II in 2026.
