Biography

Julia Lloyd began training at the Russell School of Ballet in Chantilly, Virginia with Margaret Virkus. While studying there, she attended summer intensive programs with San Francisco Ballet, Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Washington School of Ballet.

Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Butler University. During her training at Butler, she studied under and performed works by Marek Cholewa, Patrick Hinson, Michelle Jarvis, Michael Johnson, Stephan Laurent, Susan McGuire, Cynthia Pratt, Derek Reid, and Rosanna Ruffo.

After graduation, Lloyd joined American Repertory Ballet first as a trainee and later as a member of the second company. With ARB, she performed original works by Mary Barton, Douglas Martin and Kirk Peterson.
