Biography

Rafael Quenedit began his ballet training in 2006 at Escuela Elemental de Ballet Alejo Carpentier and continued at the National Ballet School of Cuba, graduating in 2014. Upon graduation, Quenedit joined Ballet Nacional de Cuba rising through the ranks to principal dancer in 2018.

With Ballet Nacional de Cuba, he performed lead roles in Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Giselle, La Bayadère, and more. In 2021, Quenedit joined Cincinnati Ballet as a principal dancer. Throughout his career, Quenedit has worked with distinguished choreographers including Alicia Alonso, Alexander Ekman, Andonis Foniadakis, Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa, Cathy Marston, and Alexei Ratmansky. He has toured extensively across Europe, North America, and Latin America.

Among his many accolades are gold medals at international competitions in Havana and Cape Town, and the award for Best Artistic Performance at the International Ballet Competition in Havana.

Quenedit joined Boston Ballet as a soloist in 2026.
