Sophia Jones began her early ballet training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in League City, Texas. She joined Feijóo Ballet School in 2016 under the direction of Lorna and Lorena Feijóo, and Nelson Madrigal.
Her Boston Ballet repertoire includes Frederick Ashton’s The Dream, George Balanchine’s Symphony in Three Movements, Paul Craig’s The Fourth Way, Valentina Kozlova’s Laurencia Pas de Six, Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty, Daniel Rubin’s No Smoke, Just Mirrors (soft), Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, the Grand Pas de Deux from La Esmeralda, and the Pas de Deux from Flower Festival in Genzano.
Jones’s other repertoire includes Nelson Madrigal’s The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, La Bayadère, Cinderella, La Sylphide, and Majísimo, Lídice Núñez’s Esperaré, The Wedding, and Bang Bang, and Yury Yanowsky’s Red Pen.
Jones competed in the 2024 Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and was the Grand Prix winner of the Houston semi-finals. She was awarded third place in pas de deux at the YAGP Finals in New York City.
Jones joined Boston Ballet II in 2024 and was promoted to artist of the Company in 2026.
