Graham Johns began dancing at the age of 12 with Elaine Kudo, Diane Orio, and Buddy Balou. He matriculated at Phillips Academy in 2010, where he continued his dance training with his academics.
In 2014, he was invited to join Boston Ballet School’s trainee program by Margaret Tracey, on full scholarship. Johns was featured in the School’s Next Generation performances, performing Peter Martins’ Les Gentilhommes and Prince Désiré in Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty.
Johns has performed principal and featured roles in works reflecting the breadth of Boston Ballet’s classical and contemporary repertoire, including work by Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, John Cranko, William Forsythe, Akram Khan, Marius Petipa, Jerome Robbins, and others,
Johns is a proud graduate of Phillips Academy, the recipient of the 2014 Phillips Academy Dance Prize, a National YoungArts Foundation Winner, a graduate of Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in finance, and a third-generation classical Pilates instructor. He is a steadfast advocate for his colleagues, whom he represents as a Vice President in the American Guild of Musical Artists.
Johns joined Boston Ballet II in 2016 and was promoted to artist of the Company in 2017.
