Register for a virtual event today

Boston Ballet is proud to host a series of three 2-hour interactive open house mentorship events in partnership with the IABD. These open houses are designed to help young and aspiring African American and dancers of color enter into the professional dance field, get to know us, and feel welcomed into our organization. Explore upcoming virtual events below.

Professional Division Spotlight | Saturday, March 6, 1–3pm

Join Margaret Tracey, Boston Ballet School Director and Alicia Greene, Assistant Principal, Community Education for Boston Ballet's second Open House for Aspiring Black Dancers. This 1.5-hour virtual event will introduce you to Boston Ballet School and its Artistic leadership and provide a glimpse into the  Professional Division at Walnut Hill School for the Arts—a first of its kind joint residential and academic program for the serious high school ballet student.

Participants will join a 30-minute virtual ballet class with barre and limited center work led by faculty member Andrea Long followed by observing an open rehearsal of the student choreography project.  The open house will conclude with a Q&A session with BBS faculty and Professional Division students where you can engage with fellow young high school dance students of color.

Our artist/athletes are always pushing themselves to the edge. That passion and energy is what makes watching them so exhilarating.
