Be Part of the Excitement

Join the supernumerary pool

Thank you for your interest in being a Supernumerary for Boston Ballet. Supernumerary roles are strictly non-dancing, walk-on parts that occasionally require heavy lifting and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.

We are not currently seeking Supers for any of our upcoming productions, however please contact Anthony Schiavo to join the Supernumerary pool today!

General Information

Supernumerary roles are generally non-dancing, walk-on parts that often require heavy lifting and the ability to stand for extended periods of time. Casting is often dependent upon not only artistic considerations but also upon the sizes of the pre-existing costumes. We must find candidates who have the right look for the artistic staff's vision, the demands of the role, and who will also fit the costume.

Supers must be available for all rehearsals and all performances for which they are cast. Rehearsals and performances take place primarily on nights and weekends, with a commitment of approximately four 1-hour rehearsals in the studio, three 4-hour technical/dress rehearsals in the theatre, and ten performances per production. Rehearsal requirements and schedules will vary dependent upon the complexity of the production and of the role assigned.

Great dance will take you on an emotional journey and recharge your spirit.
