COVID-19 Policy

  1. Students are required to be fully vaccinated and up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination in order to audition for The Nutcracker. Up to date means that they have received both doses of their initial vaccine within the past five months OR have received a booster shot if they received their initial vaccine doses over five months ago.

Please be prepared to provide the completed or scheduled date of your child’s final vaccination or booster shot, as part of the audition process.

All students need to be UP TO DATE prior to starting rehearsals at the Citizens Bank Opera House, Sunday, November 20, 2022.

  1. Masks will be required while in the audition, rehearsals, and backstage at the Citizens Bank Opera House. Additional protocols and instructions (for example, during costume fittings) will be communicated to participants ahead of time.
  2. Please note that masks will not be worn while onstage during the production. Students will be masked prior to going on stage and after exiting the stage.
  3. A COVID-19 testing protocol will likely be in place for the rehearsal and performance run. Details will be announced at a later date.
  4. If your child has a cough, fever, or exposure to any contagious disease, they will be required to stay home and follow the guidance of their doctor. Please email cmgrath@bostonballet.org immediately in order for Boston Ballet to follow up regarding performance replacement or any necessary contact tracing. All BBS policies including check-in and check-out procedures, symptom reporting, and response procedures will also be followed for Nutcracker rehearsals and performances.
  5. Boston Ballet and Boston Ballet School are closely monitoring community activity, academic school plans, CDC and Massachusetts guidelines, and advice from health advisors to support safety and health in our environment. Please visit CDC recommendations here.
