Biography
Jennifer Markham is originally from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She received her early training from Judi Drozd at Terpsichore Dance Center and with Madeline Cantarella Culpo, Deirdre Duffin Swindlehurst and Nancy Ropelewski King at the Cantarella School of Dance/School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet.
Markham danced with the Albany Berkshire Ballet, touring throughout New England, New York and Pennsylvania. In addition, she has performed with CreationDance, Dreamscape Collaborative, and Margot Parsons Dance Company. With Margot Parsons she has been privileged to have new works created for her using both live and recorded music, in classical and contemporary forms.
Markham holds a B.A. in Political Science and History, with a minor in women’s studies from Emmanuel College and a M.S. in Arts Administration from Boston University. She is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 7 and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She is also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) as well as Revolutionary Principles of Movement (RPM). She has attended teacher training with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Lisa Howell/The Ballet Blog.
Markham currently teaches at Boston Ballet School and the Community Dance Program at Walnut Hill School for the Arts and is an adjunct professor at both Dean College and Emmanuel College.
