Biography
Sam Stampleman began his ballet training in California under Jorge Esquivel. He joined San Francisco Ballet School in 2018 as a David Palmer Scholar and graduated in 2022. He then joined Houston Ballet II (HBII) under the direction of Claudio Muñoz, where he danced works by George Balanchine, August Bournonville, Stanton Welch, Trey McIntyre, Arthur Pita, Kenneth MacMillan, and Sara Guo, with HBII as well as Houston Ballet.
His repertoire includes George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, August Bournonville’s Flower Festival in Genzano, Sara Guo’s Odyssey, Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling, Trey McIntyre’s Leatherwing Bat, Claudio Muñoz’s The Sleeping Beauty, John Neumeier’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty, Arthur Pita’s Good Vibrations, Stanton Welch’s Clear, Bruiser, A Time to Dance, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, In Good Company, A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, and Paquita, and Jack Wolff’s PIEL.
Stampleman joined Boston Ballet as an artist of the company in 2024.
