Adult Open Classes

Open classes are designed for students who have a prior understanding of the principles of classical ballet. Students ages 16+ focus on refining basic positions, physical mechanics of ballet, and individual artistry at a pace that works for their experience.

Level 1 (Beginner)
This class is designed for students who have a novice understanding of ballet and who are looking to build strength, stamina, and musicality. This level will deep dive into the hard work of ballet and will focus on whole body strength and flexibility. Students will work on refining basic positions, vocabulary, and mechanics and will student medium length barre and centre exercises. This class is perfect for you if you have had 0-2 years of ballet experience.

Level 2 (Intermediate)
A more moderate class for students who have become proficient in Level 1. The aim of this class is to engage with more complex combinations of steps while classes are taught at a faster pace. Barre work and center work include balances and movements in all directions. Centre work includes the use of the body directions in combinations, change of directions, weight shifts, and introduces large traveling jumps. This class is perfect if you have at least 2-4 years of prior ballet experience.

Level 3 (Advanced)
This is the most challenging class offered and is designed for students with at least 4+ years of prior ballet experience. This class explores beyond the physical mechanics of ballet and moves to focus on individual artistry. Students will be able to move and balance in all directions and will have the ability to understand complex and advanced barre, center, and across the floor combinations. This class will focus on a wide range of dynamics, qualities, and tempos.

Please note: To keep our class quality high and ensure our student experience is always a positive one, all open classes are capped at 30 students. Certain classes fill up quickly, so to ensure your spot in class, we recommend students sign up for classes online via ahead of time. If the class is full, you can join the waitlist and be notified if a spot opens. Walk-ins will be added to the waiting list for a full-class on a first-come, first-served basis and will be let into class if a spot opens after a 10-minute grace-period for registered students.
