Dance

Rising Stars | April 14 & 15 at 7:30 pm
Meet the stars of tomorrow as they prepare for careers on the mainstage. Enjoy performances by the young professional dancers of Boston Ballet II (BBII), Boston Ballet’s second company, alongside dancers from Boston Ballet School’s Post Graduate program. This evening of stunning ballet features varied works including George Balanchine’s Allegro Brilliante, Principal Dancer Lia Cirio’s Lenore, and more.

Music

A Fiddler’s Tale | Jan 19–20 at 7:30 pm
Our music series continues with a live performance by members of the Boston Ballet Orchestra. Listen to Wynton Marsalis’ jazzy composition A Fiddler’s Tale, his contemporary response to Igor Stravinsky’s A Soldier’s Tale. The performance will be coupled with narration written by poet Stanley Crouch, who weaves a cautionary tale about a young violinist tempted to sell her soul to a record producer. A darkly poetic performance that highlights the versatility of Boston Ballet’s musicians and pays tribute to every artist’s ongoing struggle.
