Adaptive Dance Teacher Training

At Boston Ballet School, dance moves beyond the barre. Our expert faculty nurture the entirety of our students, particularly within our Adaptive Dance Program. Students of all ages and abilities are welcomed into the BBS community, not only to learn foundational ballet technique, but also to develop a life-long love for movement, music, and the community. Our curriculum, created in conjunction with leading Boston hospitals, is open to and flexible for all physical abilities, communication styles, and sensory needs.

BBS’ award-winning Adaptive Dance Program was established in 2002 in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital. One of the first programs of its kind, the program’s curriculum and framework has inspired programs nationally & internationally. Learn how to bring an Adaptive Dance style program to your community at our annual training.

Led by expert faculty, the Adaptive Dance Teacher Training is for educators, program managers, physical therapists, and other service providers interested in teaching dance and movement to individuals with disabilities (emphasis on Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders).
