Joined Boston Ballet in 2004
Jaime Diaz began his dance studies with Anna Pavlova’s Ballet Academy in Bogotá under the tutelage of his father. Later he studied at the Cuban National Ballet School.
Diaz finished joined Jeune Ballet de France in 1999, touring with the company to Russia, Spain, Germany and Italy in addition to performing in France.
He joined the National Ballet of Cuba as a soloist in 2000.
Diaz joined Boston Ballet in 2004 as a member of the corps de ballet and was promoted to soloist in 2008.
His repertory includes August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, Ashton’s La Fille mal gardée, James Kudelka’s Cinderella, Jiří Kylian’s Sarabande, Val Caniparoli’s Lambarena, Mark Morris’ Up and Down, William Forsythe’s In the middle, somewhat elevated, Asaf Messerer’s Spring Waters, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, George Balanchine's Agon and Theme and Variations and Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty and Raymonda, Act III.
