Adrian Danchig-Waring

Biography

Adrian Danchig-Waring is a principal dancer with New York City Ballet. Born in San Francisco, California, he began his dance training at the age of 11 at Dance Theatre Seven with David Roxander. He entered the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of NYCB, in the fall of 2001 and was named an apprentice with NYCB in 2002. He joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in 2003, was promoted to soloist in 2009, and to principal dancer in 2013. Since joining NYCB, Mr. Danchig-Waring has performed featured roles in numerous ballets by George Balanchine, August Bournonville, Kim Brandstrup, Ulysses Dove, Boris Eifman, Eliot Feld, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Peter Martins, Wayne McGregor, Justin Peck, Angelin Preljocaj, Alexei Ratmansky, Jerome Robbins, Liam Scarlett, and Christopher Wheeldon.
