Biography

Austin Sa is a Boston native, educator, and performer, with an extensive background in the performing arts. Beginning his dance training with Boston Ballet through their CityDance program, Sa is a unique individual to come full circle through his life from student to faculty with Boston Ballet. Since his beginnings over a decade ago, Sa has furthered his studies across the dance space through various cultures and techniques, including Haitian-Folklore, Afro-fusion, and Horton Technique.

Over the past decade, Sa has performed in a variety of lead roles within the theatre/musical industry, including The Lion King (Mufasa), Annie (Daddy Warbucks), and Hairspray (Wilbur). In addition to his extensive background in acting, Sa regularly works with the Jean Appolon Expression Dance Company and furthers his dance studies at the renowned Harvard Dance Center.

Through continued professional dance and educator training, Sa is dedicated to ensuring an inclusive, equitable, and thorough art education for all. Sa is a Group Fitness Instructor, Cycling Instructor, and Precision Run Coach for the Equinox Boston Region and is on Dance/Theatre Faculty as an Assistant Director and Choreographer with Beyond the 4th Wall Expression Theatre. He holds a Group Fitness Certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). During his travels, Sa has led fitness classes throughout the Greater Chicago and Miami areas. He currently serves as a Lead Teacher and Teaching Artist for Boston Ballet’s Community Education.
